Abstract Regarding the inventory of the estate of Mary Follin, dec'd. Joshua H. Miles, adminstrator of Follin, had Negro man Sidney, slave of deceased, and lodged him in the jail of Somerset County. Sidney escaped from said jail before the appraiser of the estate saw him and MIles has been unable to find him. He has been advised that Negro is within limits of Worcester County & if Miles has power to sell him while at large, he could obtain a fair price for him. He had offered a reward of $150 for him & believes he could sell him as he is worth from $500 to $600. It would b a total loss for the estate if he does not have the power to sell him. He is so authorized. Also ordered to sell Negro woman Delia, who is in the estate inventory, provided he does not sell her for a sum less than appraised either for cash or on a credit of 6 months.

Abstract Petition of John H. Robins, free Negro boy, that he was bound by his father Arthur Robins to James Bowen of Josiah by indenture entered into 4 Dec 1849. He was delivered to Bowen & served faithfully as apprentice. About 11 months since Bowen left state of Maryland in clandestine manner without having disposed of petitioners time according to law and has never returned. Since that time petitioner has been in several hands but conceived that indenture between him & said master James Bowen have been unfulfilled. Abstract Justices of Peace bind Peter Townsend, free Negro boy, 10 yo on 28 July next, as represented by his mother & as appears by the family record contained in a Bible exhibited to Justices showing that Peter is son of Hannah Townsend, free Negro woman. She is of indigent circumstances & with Peter's approbation & consent of mother, he is bound to Denard Williams as an apprentice to learn the trade of farming. He is to serve until 28 Jul 1861 when he will be 21 yo. he is to receive sufficent meat, drink, clothing & lodging during apprenticeship & at end of term to receive suit of clothes to cost $12 or $7 cash. Hannah also states she is his only living parent.
