Abstract Regarding the inventory of the estate of Mary Follin, dec'd. Joshua H. Miles, adminstrator of Follin, had Negro man Sidney, slave of deceased, and lodged him in the jail of Somerset County. Sidney escaped from said jail before the appraiser of the estate saw him and MIles has been unable to find him. He has been advised that Negro is within limits of Worcester County & if Miles has power to sell him while at large, he could obtain a fair price for him. He had offered a reward of $150 for him & believes he could sell him as he is worth from $500 to $600. It would b a total loss for the estate if he does not have the power to sell him. He is so authorized. Also ordered to sell Negro woman Delia, who is in the estate inventory, provided he does not sell her for a sum less than appraised either for cash or on a credit of 6 months.
