Abstract Petition of Risden Hearn, free colored man, represents that by a judgment Somrset County Court May Term 1848, that he was declared free under the will of Spence Hearn of Somerset. At that time he was residing in Worcester County and is asking for permit to continue to living there. Several people signed his petition stating that their knowledge of his general reputation consider him a man of good character and worthy of being permitted to remain in the state & county.
