Message Abstract States that letter from Supt. returning deed to Mr. [[underlined]] Primbrook [/underlined]] mentioned a blank form of deed as enclosed, but it was not found: that he will see it attended to as soon as forwarded.

Message Body Sir: Mr. Primbrook recd a letter from you this morning enclosing the Copy of Deed sent by him to you and also stating that you had enclosed a blank form deed to be executed by him to the Trustees and returned.
By some inadvertency the blank [[underlined]] was not enclosed [/underlined]] by you. Please forward it and I will see that it is properly attended to. I have written to Mrs. Lovell but recd no answer up to date.

Message Abstract States that the trustees have employed a carpenter who will commence to build school house as soon as the lumber arrives. Thinks it will be completed about the middle of April.

Message Body I pen a few lines informing you that a contract was yesterday executed between an efficient carpenter of this place and the School Board for the erection of the School House.
The work will be commenced immediately on the arrival of the lumber probably next week; weather permitting. It will most likely be completed about the middle of April. The school prospers very well.

Message Body Sir Enclosed I send you the Lumber bill. In it is included the Hardware Lime & Hair etc. as the same man furnished all. The bill is a large one but I do not know as it could have been procured cheaper.
If any more than 200$ can be given by the Bureau please assist us as the people are not able to do very much at present.

Message Abstract States that the school house is nearly completed. that he will send the bill for lumber.
Inquires if the $200 promised by the Bureau is to be disbursed by the trustees. The carpenter must be paid at once, but the lumber merchant is willing to wait, &c. Requests a school register.
Register sent.

Message Body I hoped to have been able to send you this week the Lumber bill but cannot do so until next Monday or Tuesday.
The house is as far as carpenter work is concerned nearly finished.
Will the 200$ promised by the Bureau be applied to the payment of that bill or given to the Trustees for disbursement. I ask the question because the Lumber merchant will wait for his money till the end of May and the carpenter must be paid immediately, and the Trustees desire me to make the inquiry accordingly I do so.
An accident has destroyed my Register please forward me another.
The school has flourished nicely & we hope to be in the new bulding by May at the farthest

Message Abstract States that he has forwarded receipt for the $250 00 paid by the Bureau to aid in building School House at Centreville, Md.
Inquires if the Supt. can furnish a teacher for Centreville by the first of September. States that the people want the school to open at that time but are not able to pay teachers salary, &c.

Message Body I take this opportunity of addressing a few lines to you not having received any communication since sending my receipt for the $250 paid by the Bureau in aid of the School building at Centreville Md. I am somewhat anxious to know what disposition will be made of the School at that place. I think from a letter received by me from Mrs Lowell that nothing can be depended upon from the New York Asso'n. certainly they can give no definite information "for three months to come"
The school term was to begin in September now can you make any arrangement by which the school may be promptly opened at the proper time? I hope that you can do so. With a school house completed and a School in successful operation it is certainly inopportune at least to be obliged to suspend operations. The vacation from July 1st until Sept. 1st is in the case of Centreville almost too valuable time to be lost and I hope the Bureau will do all in its power to continue The people of C are not able to employ [[strikethrough]] solely [[/strikethrough]] wholly at their own expense a teacher; the board is as much as at present they can make up.
I hope you will communicate with me at this place where I am spending the vacation so that no time may be lost if possible.
Matters in the town of C- and indeed through the C: of Queen A- were progressing nicely on my departure July 1st ult.
