Message Abstract Acknowledges receipt of letter. States he has found the place he was trying to get for church and school-house is not suitable, and has decided to let them have some of this own lands; that the building is hardly worth moving. Recommends that the Bureau aid them to build a house suitable for both purposes.
Message Body Before leaving this city I received your esteemed favor, and was glad to hear that you would try and get over here. I will be in Balt next Thursday and will remain there til the day after Grants election so I can vote and will then return here, and during that time would like to see you or hear from you Since I came over I have concluded that the place I was trying to get for the church & school house was not a suitable one and they thought so to. So I have concluded to let them have some of my land on the public road and centrally situated and convenient to all points The old building is hardly worth moving and I thought if they would take what money they have [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] with any the Bureau might allow them and build a room suitable for both purposes it would be better and I would like very much if you could come over or send over some one to advise with them as they have few friends here notwithstanding their efforts to better themselves. Hoping to hear something from you on the subject when I get to the city I am yours truly
