Message Body Since I saw you I have been making some enquiries about the school house at R Hall in the way of getting estimates &c and one builder has agreed to put it up and plaster it for $110 provided he could do it this winter while labour is so cheap When the oysterman have nothing to do in their line you can employ them low. but the first fine weather they are off. If you will furnish the sum spoken of $300, I think I will have no trouble to make up any deficiency that may occur as I Have spoken to several persons and they have promised to help towards the object. If you do intend helping the folks I hope it will be done at once, so they can reap the benifit of cheap labour and they can help also as most of farms hands are idle now. Genl Howard said he would sign anything you recommended I enclose you the deed of the property conveyed, which you will see [[strikethrough]] he [[/strikethrough]] has been placed on record in due form Hoping to hear from you very soon, as I am anxious to go over and start the thing and if you would like to go along it will give me pleasure to have you. you can return the next day. If you conclude to go let me know some days before so I can make my arrangements &c and let them know you are coming so it will give them a chance to collect and hear what you may think proper to say to them. Write soon & oblige
