Abstract [long passage stating regret of slavery after contest with Great Britain for liberty including regret about bringing Negroes & their ancestors from Africa] State sthat the people behaved with honesty & faithfully and in his interest earning his gratitude & friendship. Mentions arbitrary law prohibiting the disposal of his property as we please - such as giving freedom to negroes by last will and testament. Hopes that an enlightened period will follow example of northern citizens to to get rid of laws for shooting & cutting off their ears for offences. Lists several Negroes with their dates to be manumitted. See next entry.
