Abstract born in November 1840 to be free of all manner of servitude at & from time of Christmas day 1861 when he will be fully 21 yo if I should I die before that time. But if I outlive that time, then it is my will that he be free, released from slavery at my death. If I die before Christmas day I then give said negro boy to my nephew Nicholas Leonard (son of my sister Rebecca and Jeremiah Leonard to serve him until he is free by my will & I require him to pay said negro $20 on the day he is free.
