| Message Abstract | States that on the 29th ult. the school-house in Queen Ann County, accidently took fire and was consumed: that they desire aid from the Bureau to rebuild: that the white people offer to give them timber for the frame &c: that they are ready to put the house up at once. |
| Message Body | My Very Dear Sir the Collard peopel in Queans County has meet with a grate accident in thare school House have taking Fier and burnt down on the 29 day of February a Houes that thay had just Finish paying for and thay are quite poor and in a hard part of the state I am glad to say that it was not burnt By Bad men as some three or four outhers has bin in bygone day I am glad to say that times are geting better bouth in Queans and Kent for our peopel the white peopel in the nabourwoud are in sympey with them and have give timbur in thare woods and thay are geting thare frame and if the Burrau can give them some lumber and shinglers and what ever [[?]] it can healp them with would be thankfull recevd thay can get all the frame home out the woods thay wount to get the House up at once if thay can get some help form you if not I dont think thay will be abel to have Eny Shool thare this year thay think if thay can get healp thay can get thare House up in some six weeks pleas let us hear form this request [...] P.S. I will have the deed for the School House at George town - 5 dist. K. Conty Execuet properly and sent to you a gane if desied |
