| Abstract | ⦠I set free my Negro woman Nancy purchased of James W. Custis, unless she shall prove dto be regnant as now supposed & shall give birth to a child, then she shall not be free until 18 months after the birth of the child provided it shall live, if shall dies in that tiem Nancy shall be free. If not pregnant shall shall be free at my death. My extr. shall send Nancy immediately after her right to freedom, to the state of New York at the expense of my estate & give her $10 upon her arrival in the state of New York. To my two children Margaret R. & Cornelius J. Heath, the services of my Negro girl Mary & such child as Nancy is now pregnant with until each arrive at age 30, when I set them free & also the increase that either of them may have before their right to freedom accrues until they severally attain age 21, when they also shall be free. If both of my children die without issue, slaves and their increase who have attained age 21 shall go free, but if not, then to my sister Eliza Coleburn unitl they attain that age & then be free. |
