Abstract of Record Julian Hayman, negro 12 yo on 28 December last, placed as apprentice with James R Hayman, farmer, until she is 16 yo. She to well and truly behave, conduct herself as good & faithful apprentice toward her master. Master to furnish good & sufficient meat, drink, clothes, washing, lodging & other requisites. To be taught spinning, weaving, housework; also to teach her to read & write. When free, to receive suit of clothes worth $4 or cash.
