Message Abstract States that he has got the frame on the ground for the school house at that place. He has bargained for the lumber on conditions that Genl [[underlined]] Howard [[/underlined]] will appropriate the $200.00 promised by him - as early as May 2d, 70 Respectfully referred to Major [[underlined]] W.L. Van Derlip [[/underlined]] Supt. of Education for D.C. Md, Del, and W. Va By order of Bt. Maj. Genl. [[underlined]] O.O. Howard [[/underlined]] Respectfully returned to Genl. H. M. Whittelsey, A.A.A. General with request that aid to the amount of $200 00/100 be granted to the school of Centreville, and a like amount to the school at Salem, when it shall appear that that amount will complete the buildings #256 [[check mark]] [[signature]] W L VanDerlip [[/signature]]Respectfully referred to Major [[underlined]] W. Message Body Sir We are all weating For A Letter frome you I have this makes the Third Letter I have rote you and I have not Received eny answer Dr Sir I have Got the frame on the Ground for the School House at Centreville Md and I have Bargin for the Lumber. The Gelteman that I am Going to Get the Lumber frome Says He will let me have the Lumber if you will Promis that you will Pay the $200.00 that you Promis us by the 2 day of May 1870,
