Message Body | Our school this month is quite large for this season of the year. The children were delighted with the idea of attending school again, some of them are quite advanced and take great interest in attending the school and are making great progress. We celebrate the Ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment on the 19th of this month and we were so busy making preperations for the occasion that I could not have any school that week the pupils and I took a part in helping to decorate the wagons. We made a grand appearance and every thing passed off quietly and peacefully and in a creditable manner. The Procession was said to be the grandest sight ever witnessed in this town. As I did not receive transportation last Fall and knowing that it is the intention of the Association to pay the expenses one way, I have sent a bill of my traveling expenses from New Bedford my place of residence to Emmittsburg and from there thence to Chestertown.
