Message Abstract Acknowledges receipt of check in payment of his salary for Jany. Feb. Thinks the size of his school require the services of an assistant teacher.
Message Body Sir: I acknowledge the receipt of $18.82/100 of as balance of salary for Jan & Feb. The size of the school warrants the necessity of an assistant until the close of the term vacation The lowest [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] estimate number of scholars at any one time since the 1st of Jan has been 50 & as the total enrollment is 75 as those of the pupils who follow oystering has been steadily in attenance owing to the many rains & cloudy days; which makes it an impossibility to do justice to all. Respectfully &c [[signature]] J.W. Adams [[/signature]] Tyaskin Md March 28th 1870. N.B. Do the society give any reason why they decline to pay retransportation of the Teacher.
