Message Body | I am a Teacher of Freedmen in Maryland and desire transportation to my School if I can procure it by the 24th inst, as I am obliged to leave N.B. on that day. I have been in the employ of the Baltimore Association ever since April 1867 and [[strikethrough]] du [[/strikethrough]] during the vacation here, I have been soliciting aid for my School. I have been quite successful, and am to return to my School. I am teaching at Jamestown Somerset Co. Md. and in going to my School I take the following route. New Bedford to Myricks to Newport by rail, thence to New York by Steamer, from New York to Philadelphia via Camden & Amboy R.R. From Philadelphia to Westover Station Somerset Co. Md. via P.W. & B. R.R. Westover Station is two miles from Jamestown. I enclose as a proof of my statements one letter from the Balto. Asso. to myself and I should consider it a personal favor if I could obtain my Transportation by the 24th as I can not afford to remain here after that date. |
