Transaction Abstract | By virtue of Act of General Assembly of Maryland passed December Session 1839 Chap 35 - "Act to provide for better regulation of the free Negroes and Mulatto Children" John Troth, in presence of Justices of Orphans Court to take as an apprentice Negro Priscilla Stiles, daughter of Jonathan Stiles 5 yo. To serve until age 16. Troth will furnish sufficient meat, drink, clothes, washing, lodging & other necessaries and to teach her occupation of house wifery. When free she to receive $8 as freedom dues. Signed 23 Sep 1850. |
