| Abstract | To my daughter Elizabeth Wallop my Negro Mary until Mary arrives to age 40 & the increase of Mary until they are age 40 & Elizabeth is not to sell or hire Mary & her increase outside of Accomac County. To my son Southey Taylor my Negro George until George is age 40 upon same conditions as above. I set free my Negroes Mary & Robert, being now husband & wife & give them 200 pouns of pork or bacon & the privilege of occupying the house & 1 acre of land in southwestern corner of land I purchased of Francis D. Miller. Balance to all my children & I hereby givbe it force that all my Negroes to be set free as they arrive at age 40 & the increase of the females are to serve those to whom they fall, only until they arrive to age 40. My children are bound to not sell or hire my Negroes out of the county. Negroes which may in the division fall to my daughter Sarah Ann Trader, may be held by my son Southey Taylor & Stringer Marshall as trustees for sole use of Sarah Ann Trader & her children; if they die before term of service of slaves has terminated, then they to be returned to my estate to be shared by rest of my children. Slaves which fall to my son Colmore Taylor may be held by Georg Wallop & Southey Taylor as trustees. After slaves have served my devisees as providen & they shall become free & if they shoudl fail, in opinion of Justices of Peace to obtain honest living, the Justices are authorized ot hire out said Negroes for limited time to good homes & pay themeselves out of procedes & pay balance to the Negroes. |
