Abstract … freedom to all my Negroes that shall be at age 28 & over at my death & my Negro woman Lace & her child Viley at the time of her freedom, until the child be at lawful age, I hereby insert the ages of my Negroes: Bill to be age 16 in May, Sam was age 14 last Jan, Leah was age 12 in May, Smith to be age 10 this May, Sharlot to be age 8 this August, Thorogood to be age 6 on 4 July next, Edmund to be age 4 on 13 June, George to be age 3 next December & John was age 8 last March. i give John's services to Mary Burton (set free by my grandfather Thomas Burton) during her life provided the boy be treated right by Mary Burton & if not, John W.A. Elliott to see that he shall not be misused & after Mary's death to John W. Elliott. All my property and Negroes during their time of service to Siner Harmon my sister and David Mears my nephew.
