Abstract To my son John J.R, Burton…the services and hires of my slaves Harriet & Laura until they are age 33 & Sam until he is age 21 at which time he will be set free according to the will of my father Thomas Burton. ….. To my son John J. R. Burton & also my slaves Ann, George, Ezekiel until they attain age 33 & also slave Susan until she attains age 21 under the will of my father... My slaves Harriet, Laura, Ann, George & Ezekiel to be free at age 33 provided that they leave the Commonwealth of Va. within one year of their freedom & if not they are to pass under the residuary clause of theis will.
