Purnell, in his will, bequeathed his whole estate,after payment of debts, to his sister Mary O.Purnell for 6 years, then to her children & those of his brother John Purnell, deceased; personal estate will not cover debts without sale of negroes; said Mary & reprentatives of John Purnell to pay adm. value of negroes to prevent sale & to divide negroes; James A. Collins & Levin Dirickson to divide; Distributions: to Mary O. Purnell, wife of George W. Purnell; negro man Will, Manuel, Uriah & Glasgow, boy Bill, women Juda & Pleasant, girls Sarah, Peggy, Mary, Comfort & Jane. to heirs of John Purnell: men George & Littleton, boy John, girls Grace, Bett, Hess, Julian & Charlotte. Subdivision to heirs of John Purnell: to Stephen Riley, in right of his wife Mary, daughter of John; negro George . to Thomas M.
