Abstract Whereas the said Ingersol owes and now stands justly indebted to the said Roberts in the sum of 150 pounds current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents, now this indenture further witnesseth that in and for the consideration of the sum of $10 curent money, Ingersol mortgages to Roberts all the following goods and chattels herein expresessed being a Negro man "Jack." Several other items listed including livestock and household goods.
