Abstract Certification: This is to certify that on the 3rd of September the subscriber brought and removed from Virginia into the state of Maryland a Negro man "Burges" aged 19 and which said Negro man was devised by a Elizabeth Covington dated the 23rd of May 1786 and recorded in the records of Northumberland County, Virginia to a Zeporah Leatherbury and title to which said Negro was acquired by the subscriber in his intermarriage with the said Zepoah.
