| Abstract | Henry Downes, in cons. of $10, manumits Maria, a woman of colour, abt. 27, on 1 Jan 1816 and William, her son, abt 7, on 1 Jan 1825; Matilda , age 12 last June, on 1 Jan 1820; and Jacob, age 9 in July last, on 1 Jan 1823 - these last 2 are the children of Mary, now free - the issue of Maria & Matilda to be born free as if born of free white woman. |
