Abstract
The whole of my estate except my Negroes to be sold⦠. To wife the remainder of my estate & the whole of my Negroes until they shall be free, the respective period known by reference to a Deed of Emancipation, except Negroes as I may fall heir to in right of my wife.... . Also the Negroes which I may fall heir to of the above estate, if over the age of 25, should have a choice either to go free or remain with my wife so that they could become free without leaving the state. When son George becomes of age he has access to estate over and above needed to support wife, children and their education. in case of wife's death or marriage before George is lawful age. All the profits from the time of service of my Negroes shall go to my daughters.

To wife Margaretâ¦& Negro woman Rose & at my wife's death or marriage Rose to be free or the liberty to serve any of my children if she will not accept her freedom. Abraham Crippen, free Negro, should have house & lot he now occupies during his life by paying $1 rent annually & upon his death the house to go to my Negro man Solomon & Sabra his wife during their life & then to the trustees of my daughter. Negroes Abel, Solomon & Sabra his wife to be free on condition now prescribed by law, other wise they shall be at liberty to serve my children as they please. To trustees... & my Negro woman Nanny & Esther & boy Colly.... . To granddaughter Elizabeth Sarah Poulson the land... & Negro girl Edy & woman Mahala. Abstract
My woman Rose to be set free at the end of the year in which I shall decease & 4 yrs later I set free slaves Bill, George, Leah, & Child & all their future increase, Mary and her future increase & Henry provided they leave the state of Va. At the same time within 12 months of their freedom. Rose may stay and serve 4 four years and be paid $12 per year & find her good clothes during that time. If my Extrs think best they shall hire them all out until they raise the sum sufficient all together to send them to Phila., Liberia or any better place. They shall not be hired if the Colonization Society of the State of Vriginia provides the means to send them away. the half of Bable which belongs to me, I am at a loss of how to dispose if he cannot obtain his entire freedom; he should have 1/4 of his hire paid to him annually and 1/4 to my estate. My wife shall take my old woman Amerita who now lives in Pocomoke & my old man Peter & they shall serve her as long as they are able to do anything & then be maintained by my wife.
