Message Body I am a student of Lincoln University— and being commissioned to teach by the Home Mission of N.Y. I came accordingly— but being directed wrongly in Baltimore— I came to Berlin— Frederick Co Md. instead of Berlin Worcester Co. Md. And I am left here without money— or the means of either getting home or to the other Berlin— I have only one leg— or I would work my way back— While in N.Y. Dr. Hatfield gave me an envelope with your address— telling me if I was in trouble to make it known to you and you would help me out. Oh Sir I am in that trouble now. I am cast upon the mercy of some poor people who have kindly taken me in for a time. I don't how long that will be. And I have no one here whom I know. But I put my trust in Him who is the giver of all Good and when my heart seemed heaviest I thought of you–Believeing that God directed me. If you can give me [[stikethrough]] an? [[/strikethrough]] a pass or in any way help me–God will repay you–and I sir–will teach for you–in an attempt at a return for your great kindness. Please write & give me some hope.
