Lowell authorised me to open School on the 22nd of Nov, but I didnot receive her letter until Saturday the 27th. So I could not open until Monday the 29th. Mrs. Lowell said she thought that you would send me some books if I applied to you. I would be very glad if you would send me about 30 books, (reading, spelling etc,) suitable for a primary School. If you will forward them to me I will be responsible for the money. My P.O. is Upper Trappe Md. by nearest Express office at Salisbury Md.
