Family History Notes 1. Jane Price, born say 1727, was the indentured servant of Hugh Eccleston of Great Choptank Parish, Dorchester County on 10 November 1745 when she confessed to having a "Molatto" child by a "Negroe" [Judgment Record 1744-5, 475]. She was a "Malatto Woman" who still had ten years to serve when she was listed in the inventory of the Dorchester County estate of Thomas Eccleston on 31 August 1747 [Prerogative Inventories & Accounts 1747-1748, 264]. She may have been the ancestor of i. Rachel, born say 1757, a spinster servant who had a "Mulattoe" child during her service and was sold by the Caroline County court for seven years after the completion of her service. The court also sold her son Stephen, born 22 May 1777, until the age of thirty-one for 25 pounds [Criminal Record 1774-8, 369-70]. ii. Isaac, head of a Caroline County, Maryland household of 5 "other free" in 1790. iii. Jere2, head of an Octararo, Cecil County household of 1 "other free" in 1790.
