J.; Haven, Wilmington, Del; Bridgeville, Del; Milford, De; S. Berlin, Md; Lewes, De. Retired 1942. Greatest impact was in education. His idea started a college in 1886; while pastor of Metropolitan Church, Princess Anne, Md he envisioned institution of higher learning on Eastern Shore of Md for Negroes. Princess Anne Academy was born, became branch of Morgan College, Baltimore. Recognized for his contributions to Conference & church, Bennett College conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Divinity. |

Surviving: widow, Mrs. Sarah Waters, daughter, Mrs. Lillie Bunday of Philadelphia & son Paul of Philadelphia; brother Rev. Wilmore E. Waters, retired. |
