Church Service, Charges Served, Affiliated Locations, and Other Biographical Information Converted at early age & baptized in Baptist Church, but joined Methodist Episcopal Church with mother. Attended Centenary Biblical Institute in Baltimore (now Morgan State College). Moved to Philadelphia becoming active in Bainbridge Street Church (now Tindley Temple); became superintendent of Sunday School. Sent as supply pastor at Quantico, Md in 1888 & admitted to Delaware Conference in 1889. Served churches for 53 years in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey & Pennsylvania.
Family and Other Information Parents: William Edward Hilton & Elizabeth Rigby Hilton who married in 1832 & had 13 children, he being #7. Spouse: Mary Ellen Hudson (met in Philadelphia) Daughter: Mrs. Shockley of Milford, Del. Son: Leslie G. of Merchantville & William Edward, Jr. of Philadelphia. 2 brothers, 1 sister, 17 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren also survive him.
