Church Service, Charges Served, Affiliated Locations, and Other Biographical Information (White) Senior Bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Friend of the colored race, especially members of the M.E. Church. He repulsed vigorus objections by some of the leading men of the church and organized what was known as a Local Conference in the more northern states, including a part of Delaware. Led to conception of a the Delaware Conference. In 1853 he visited mission work in Liberia & held its first Conferenct of the church. Originator of Centenary Biblical Institute in Baltimore.
