Abstract An Indenture made by the Overseers of the Poor and John G. Joynes to carry out an order made in the County Court dated 30 September 1833 to bind Tom Gaskins free Negro orphan of [-----] Gaskins until the age of twenty one, unto John G. Joynes, who will provide sufficient Meat, Drink, Washing, Lodging, and Wearing Apparel, teach him the trade of a Farmer and also pay him Twelve Dollars at the expiration of the said time.
