Abstract Molly Bratcher (Bracher), in cons. of $20 - manumits negro girl Meriah Bratcher - purchased of David Nevil of Queen Anne's Co., 3 may 1806, being of age 17 years. Accompanying this manumission was the following: 3 May 1806. "I, David Nevil, Sr. of Queen Anne's Co. have this day sold a negro girl named Maria to her grandmother Molly Bratcher of Queen Anne's Co. for the sum of £15 and this day have received £5.16.3 in part." Rec'd 4 May 1806 of Molly Bratcher, the sum of £2.13.3 in part payment for the girl Maria. Rec'd $1 more to be added to this receipt.
