Abstract Nathan Smith, Jr. to Henry D. Elbert - cons. £37.10.0 specie - negro woman Rose, to serve 6 yrs. rom 1 Jan 1803 - also 3 children, negro boy Harry to be given up to H.D. Elbert at the expiration of the mother's time; a negro girl Harriett, to serve until she arrives at age 23 yrs., from 1 Jan next; also one negro boy Joe, to serve for term of 25 yrs. from 1 Jan next - Smith to clothe and victual the said negroes during their time with sufficient meat, drink and apparel suitable for black people to have. Smith also agrees not to sell Rose or her children or any issue she may have, out of state.
