| Abstract | Deposition of Wm. Jackson, age 43, for Andrew Brice - that sometime after a newgro girl called Sinah was brought up from Col. Henry's to Greensborough, that Mr. Kennard was at his house and told him that he had received a letter from the Col. Informing him that Sinah's mother, Cato, was very uneasy on accountof her child showing him the letter if Kennard was agreed he would give him choice of any negro women in Caroline Co. for her - Kennard replied it was out of his power to exchange with him as he had given Sinah to Sally (Brice) and observed that Sinah was young and Sally might bring her up to her own hand and she would make a better nurse for the children than a woman. |
