Abstract John Nicols, formerly of Caroline Co., of St. Paul, Ramsey Co., territory of Minnesota, manumits mulato woman Margaret, daughter of Charlotte, on 1 Jan 1858 - negro man Alexander, son of Charlotte, now in service of Edgar Plummer, on 15 Jan 1859 - negro man Charles, also in service of Edgar Plummer, son of Charlotte, on 15 Jan 1861 - and mulatto woman Betsy, now in the service of Warner R. Busteed and formerly manumitted by myself to be free at age 33, I now manumit to be free at the end of her term with Warner R Busteed, that is, on 1 Jan 1860 - and her son Alexander to be free at the expiration of his service to Busteed, on 1 June 1869 when he will be age 30.
