Abstract "Received of Juliet A.Smith the sum of $300 for negro woman Maria and her child Mary, abt 18 months old, late property of Joel Smith, dec'd - sold by special order of the Orphans' Court of Queen Anne's Co., dated 28 Apr 1846 - paid to me by William Potter, admr. of Joseph P. W. Richardson for an order in my possession, given by Mrs. Smith for the amount of a judgment in Caroline Co. court at her suit against Potter." Signed: James H. fountain, admr. of Joel Smith.
