"On 9 Jan 1832 I removed from Sussex Co. to Caroline Co. with intention of residing therein and brought with me a negro woman named Easter, aged 40 and her 4 children: Dennis, 20; Ritta, 16; Rhoda, 11; and Tilghman, 1; which Easter I became possessed of by my marriage to Mary Noble; the children I raised myself - and request them to be registered."
