"On 25 Jan 1832 I removed from Kent Co., Delaware to Caroline Co. with bona fide intention of residing there and brought with me a negro boy named Samuel, aged 17, to serve until he arrives to age 25 - which I became possessed of by my intermarriage with Jane Lewis - and request him to be registered."
